CMA-B’s Annual Blood Drive
On Thursday, January 7, 2010, Chicago Military Academy at Bronzeville held their annual blood drive. The event is hosted be the JROTC Department and led by the Battalion’s Operations Officer cadet Major Chelsie Burdine. In this event, 87 cadets attempted to give blood, but only 54 were able to donate. The Academy hosts two blood drives a year through Life Source. However, there was a twist to this year’s first drive. CMA-B experienced a lock down while the blood drive was taking place. The cadets and staff performed outstanding during the lock down. Our next blood drive will be held in May 2010. Our cadets and staff can not wait to participate.

2009/2010 JROTC Citywide Drill and Color Guard Competition
The 2009/2010 JROTC Citywide Drill and Color Guard Competition was conducted at Carver Military Academy on December 12, 2009. The Chicago Military Academy competed in three competitions: platoon inspection, platoon drill, and color guard. Out of approximately 50 schools, CMA-B placed third in the color guard competition.
